This tool re-renders each page as an image, so the result is highly compressed but the text is no longer selectable. For PDFs that are mostly text, the original is often already small - compression helps most with scans and photo-heavy files.
About Compressing PDFs
PDF files are large mainly because of the images inside them. This tool reduces size by rendering every page to a compressed JPEG at a chosen quality, then rebuilding the PDF from those images.
The trade-off is that text becomes part of the image and can no longer be selected or searched. All processing happens in your browser - your PDF is never uploaded.
