MS Access Weekday() Function — SQL

Return the weekday number for a date:

Definition and Usage

The Weekday() function returns the weekday number for a given date.

This function returns an integer between 1 and 7.

  Weekday(date, firstdayofweek)

Parameter	Description
date	Required. A valid date
firstdayofweek	Optional. Specifies the first day of the week. Can be one of the following values: 0 = Use the NLS API setting 1 = Sunday (default) 2 = Monday 3 = Tuesday 4 = Wednesday 5 = Thursday 6 = Friday 7 = Saturday

Return the weekday number for the current date:

  SELECT Weekday(Date());

Return the weekday number for the specified date, setting Monday as the first day of week:
